您好, 我是 Kierstin – Hello, I am Kierstin
[hidden text]. I am an outbound to Taiwan for the 2014-2015 school year, which will be my senior year of high school. As a result, I am completing all of the credits I need to graduate at my high school through the post-secondary option this summer (2014). Besides attending school, I am trying to learn Mandarin and absorb as much information as I possibly can about Taiwan before I leave. Going to Taiwan will be my 2nd time abroad; the first being Japan. I feel that going to Japan is one of the events that opened my eyes to youth exchange and inspired me to become a long-term outbound.
I was born and raised in
[hidden text] County. Therefore, I have not had as wide of an exposure to diversity as most people have had in their lives. Despite this, I am looking forward to experiencing and observing the differences between Ohio and Taiwan. I hope to not only learn the language and culture of Taiwan, but also build relationships and, as a result, have multiple doors open for my future. Last, but not least, I wanted to thank everyone that is supporting me and my dreams. So, thank you to my family, friends and Rotary.
